‘Buttercup’ – Why the name?? Please Please Please! Tell me you didn’t think of Powerpuff Girls!

That’s the pet-name of Rosie Dunne, the female protagonist in one of my favorite novels by Cecelia Ahern, ‘Where Rainbows End’.

You know that feeling when you read a book and you keep experiencing that “Oh my God, that’s so ME!” and you like to believe that the character was made just for you!

Barring certain incidents in her life, Rosie aka Buttercup is not different from me.

– She’s crazy, confused and emotional (don’t even ask!)…

– She lives an unplanned, unorganized life and acts on impulse.

– Most importantly, it’s her love for letters that connects me with her.

Well, also, my bestie who gifted me the book happened to give me the name. So it stays! 🙂

Did you know??

– I’m left handed so I was always meant to pursue a creative career.

– I’m passionate about words.

– I’m slow but steady and persistent.

All of this I realized after:

3 years of Accounting & Finance + 6 months of MBA classes + 6 attempts at C.A.!!! 🙂

Love List:

1) Harry Potter series (The books*) – I believe in Magic. I believe in all those characters and what they stood for. My prized possessions consisting of the books, souvenirs and collectibles shall be a part of my will.

2) Music – I’m trained in carnatic music for 8 years and I’m extremely fussy about my choice. I have a limited collection that I could spend the rest of my life listening to! By the way, I nearly died of excitement waiting outside Amit Trivedi’s green room for an autograph and photo!

3) Food – My cooking skills can fetch me an 8/10 if you discount the shape of my rotis! I love Cafés and pizza will always be my first love.

4) Coffee – Nothing comes between me and coffee. Except maybe the Starbucks bill.

5) Travel – Mountains and beaches and Kerala! Road trips with the husband and flights with my folks!

6) Memories – I live in the PAST most of the time and I enjoy taking my readers for a walk down the memory lane.
