Before you assume that I went underground since the tree plantation update, let me tell you that I’m here, very much ‘grounded’ in all respects!
Welcoming ‘green’ over the weekends has been the stress buster this monsoon, for the weekdays have been all about beating the blues. I’ve been trying to stay as close to nature as I can, what with this new found love for everything ‘green’ but but but.. this love ends with travel and explore. If you think I’d taken a liking to gardening then you ought to know that all I have is a broken thumb not a ‘green’ thumb (story to follow!).
While we’re at colors, why don’t I hold a prism to your eye to help you see the real picture??
Weekdays:
With the company launching its much-awaited product, the team was confined to what they call a ‘War Room’ and daily late sittings! It was WAR alright because on Day 02 we couldn’t help observing the similarity of our situation to that of Chakde India; A dysfunctional team led by ‘harr team ka sirf ek hi gunda’ Kabir Khan! π
We found ourselves being forced up the mountain before we could spell the word ‘acclimatization’!
Every day was the same – Work. Failure. Re-work. Unmet deadlines. Try again next day.
The second week was ushered in with Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and you’d think we’d have been excused, but the very start of the week saw me in a ‘saree’ state of affairs. Pun intended or not, you figure out!

By the time the third and final week arrived, we had FINALLY managed to unite as a team with a common theme – ZOMBIE;
We had no more brains to storm….
The very word ‘pizza’ was enough to strike fear and store fat in us…
Our existence was a question; as literally for our family as it was metaphorically for us!
Psst! I must say our team’s Kabir Khan has equal patience and persistence as the one in the movie did! π
Weekends:
It was just before the start of the ‘War-at-Work’ period and I couldn’t be more thankful to my friend who arranged a getaway to this beautiful resort right in the middle of nature, away from reality!
Location: Vandevata Dairy & Agro Farm, Karjat.
They have an impressive property that you could explore on foot and the biggest attraction is the artificial waterfall in the premises; one of the rarest times when I chose green waters over blue!

The following two weekends kept me busy playing the good bahu role, to make up for all the lost time during the weekdays!
Now for the story you’ve all been waiting for!
Ideally it’s something I’d rather not recall because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but given this story was woven in Igatpuri I’ll make an exception π
Prologue:
It was the weekend following the end of ‘War-at-Work’. An overnight planned team outing that we were looking forward to with many ‘buts’ applicable!
Excerpts:
– I hate dancing. Period. Okay not HATE but it’s in the same league as dealing with numbers!
– One of the earliest dance memories I have is of ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ which my best friend and I had choreographed to perform at a friend’s house-party and it remains a favorite since then.
– I’m one of the clumsiest humans prone to accidents you’d only imagine to be fictional!
Put all of these together and you have my story!
After three weeks of battling it out we had nearly no life left in us and we decided to live that night as if it were our last! My partner-in-crime and I were joined at the hip so much so when they said burn the dance floor we happily agreed, only we burnt the skin on our knees thanks to SRK’s trademark jump! Then I went one step ahead and fell sideways to land on my thumb….

Epilogue:
As a teen I had three items on my wishlist:
1) Braces – In retrospect, I’m glad this one didn’t get fulfilled! Imagine having to deal with “Aye, I know what you had for lunch!”
Spectacles – I put on a spare to locate the missing one! π (blind as a bat!)
Arm Fracture – Well at least a finger is better than nothing! Can I have someone autograph it? π
I guess I’ve pretty much shown you the entire picture which I like to believe was crazy, colorful and entertaining! What do you think?
P.S. I’m beginning to feel like a ‘Human Prism’! Do you think I’m worthy of the title?
If yes, thumbs up! *Ouch*
Cheers!
