The i’m-perfect Mom!

Oh dear, I'm a Mom of two
But I don't know what to do!

What made me think I'd make a perfect Mom?
My middle name is 'Kiddo',
My son's curiosity is almost always met with an "I don't know!"
I will one fine day make him my teacher,
Until then I'll rely on Google and my Mother!
I fall for no rhyme or reason
I've set a record in breaking crockery by the dozen
I overreact, I overthink and overanalyse,
When will I ever get old and wise?
Oh dear, I'm a Mom of two
But I don't know what to do!
I goof up, I have bad days
Things just won't fall in place
I hate to accept I could've done better
Advice and opinions, please give me neither!
I lose my cool, I raise my voice,
I demand of him that what I do not practice
I grumble, I'm loud and picky,
Seems like the only rule I play by is hypocrisy
Oh dear, I'm a Mom of two
But I don't know what to do!
Whenever I try to do it all,
the result of my multitasking is a LoL!
I bite off lot more than I can chew
Makes me wonder if I'm the issue!
This Mother's Day I pledge to embrace all my imperfections,
To deal with my emotions,
To take my flaws in my stride,
To look on the b(right) side
I can make them laugh and play,
I can read to them all day,
I can make them believe in magic, love and themselves,
I can teach them to sing, be silly and find seashells!

Children don't want perfection,
They demand love, they want attention
In their eyes you're already a star They'll love you just the way you are!
P.S. When the dot on the map I pointed out as Srilanka turned out to be Madagascar,
I discovered I can also change the world as a Mother!
