Rain rain go away, make way for a sunny day!

Where are you?

Where are you my dear Sun!?

I’m waiting for breezy sunny days when I can walk with my head held high and a bounce in my steps, my floral summery dress swaying at my knees in harmony with the happy tunes playing on my phone!

Ok… Cliché.

You know me though! I have always maintained that ‘cliché’ is a word best to be avoided when it comes to romance!

Back to reality. The last few days have been a wet spell. I hardly saw any sun!

This kind of weather only seems to be doing a good job of dampening my spirits. There is a bounce to my steps, yes, thanks to the puddles on the road that I cautiously jump over but that’s where the romance ends!

Rains feature nowhere in my idea of romance because I find them extremely depressing. Before you guys curse me, I won’t wish for the rains to vanish because I don’t want another 2015 but I think we’ve had a decent monsoon this year and it’s now time for it to say bye!

For as long as I can remember, I have had a problem with monsoon. When in school I hated rainy days because that meant a declared holiday. No school = punishment.

Moving on to college, rains meant delayed buses, flooded roads, missed lectures.

At work, it meant reaching office in an absolutely disheveled state!

Enjoying rains the way Bollywood movies portray can’t be taken too seriously! They don’t have to deal with wet hair and ugly feet!

I know how cruel summers can be and October may call for another post on my battle with the heat but if I were to choose the lesser of two evils, I’d anyday want the sun to shine down on me.. (minus the horrid humidity) 😛
